RECYCLING INFORMATION FOR OUR AREA: DOOR TO DOOR COLLECTIONS OF GREEN WASTE, PAPER, BOTTLES. PLASTICS, CARDBOARD AND OTHER ITEMS IS UNDERWAY AT THE MOMENT. IF YOU WISH YOU CAN UTILISE THE VARIOUS REUSE AND RECYCLING FACILITIES IN HARINGEY. THESE SERVICES ARE FOR RESIDENTS ONLY AND NOT FOR COMMERCIAL WASTE From April 2007, textiles, shoes and clothes will no longer be collected from green recycling boxes. Instead, take them to charity shops, or use the clothes banks in car parks and around the Borough as well as the Reuse and Recycling centres. There are FREE collection services available from your home for white goods, including fridges and freezers, dishwashers, ovens, televisions, IT equipment, gas cylinders and tyres. Home collections of other items like furniture - up to six items - can be booked for a small charge of £16.84 for all 6. not accept Hazardous waste: SPECIAL NOTE: There is no rubbish dump as such in Haringey and people searching for such a facility should consider using the Recycling centres. Dumping of rubbish on streets is prohibited. |
REUSE AND RECYCLING FACILITY AT 35 HORNSEY HIGH STREET, N8 (just past Myddelton Road) Open 7 days a week: Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Good Friday DRIVE-IN - DRIVE OUT - VERY EASY ACCESS. STAFF AVAILABLE TO HELP. A very wide range of items can be recycled and reused here including: Untreated wood, scrap metal, engine oil, shoes, textiles, clothes, plastic bottles, electrical goods, car and household batteries, mobile phones and printer cartridges, cardboard, cans and green waste. Items for reuse are furniture, IT equipment and white goods such as fridges, freezers, cookers and washing machines. There is also a General Waste container. With this facility there is no reason to have unneccesary waste goods in your gardens, sheds and cellars!
